DC Paid Family Leave Program Begins

Starting July 1, 2019 DC will begin to collect taxes from all private sector employers to fund the program. Employers must begin recording wages for workers as of April 1, 2019. Employees may begin filing claims as of July 1, 2020.

WorkForce West Virginia implements Pattern of Failing Law

Beginning September 1, 2019, WFWV will begin analysis of employer responses to  requests for information to ensure responses are being filed timely and with adequate information. Should an employer fall below the 75% threshold, a letter of warning will be issued and response rate must be corrected within 6 months. Failure to make corrections will place the employer on a “Failed to Fully Participate Violator’s List” for 6 months. During this time the employer cannot be relieved of charges.

Minimum Wage Increases

The following minimum wage changes will take place: 

July 1, 2019

District of Columbia – $14.00, Tipped Employees $4.45 

New Jersey – $ 10.00, Tipped Employees $2.63

Oregon – $11.25 Standard, $12.50 Portland Metro, $11.00 non-urban Counties

October 1, 2019

Delaware – $9.25, Tipped Employees $2.23, Youth and Training Rate (adults less than 90 days on the job) $8.75
